Compliance Analyst/Manager
The Singapore office covers both institutional and private banks/high net worth clients in the APAC region – including Japan and Australia.
Description
Our Singapore location has opened a Compliance role which will support coverage of APAC clients, prospects, and business opportunities. We are seeking candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit who are interested in working in smaller office environments. This role reports to the CEO of Brandes Asia and works closely with the Global Head of Compliance.
Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with the MAS and CMS license requirements for Singapore as well as to support the office and ensure business/ regulatory compliance across APAC region where relevant.
Drafting and maintaining the Compliance Manual, including review of procedures based on regulatory guidelines or industry practices.
Developing and testing procedures associated with investment guidelines, restrictions mandated by the Advisor’s clients, and regulations based on jurisdiction.
Maintain the following:
- Reporting to regulators and authorities.
- Testing records and data needed for management reports.
- Personal knowledge of current business unit procedures.
- Confidentiality of firm and client information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance and three years of finance-specific legal, regulatory or compliance experience. Experience in an asset management firm would be strongly viewed.
- Diplomatic and respectful communication skills, exceptional ability to convey thoughts clearly and concisely.
- Values effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Keen sense of precision and maintaining accuracy.
- Works effectively on tight timetables, fast, accurate turnaround.
- Solid knowledge of MS applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
