Grant Duncan is responsible for the firm’s institutional business development and client service in the United States. Before joining Brandes, Mr. Duncan was a consultant for Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, where he helped clients develop and implement customized asset-allocation plans. He received his BS in Marketing from Clemson University – College of Business and Behavioral Science. Mr. Duncan’s relevant experience began in 1994 and he joined Brandes Investment Partners in 2000.
Michael Israel works in close coordination with the firm’s Investment Committees, institutional clients, prospects and consultants to provide insights and interpretation of the firm’s portfolio strategies and investment philosophy. Mr. Israel also ensures that the firm accommodates client-specific guidelines and considers existing portfolio allocations when implementing investment decisions. Additionally, he leads the firm’s North American Institutional Business, which is responsible for business development, consultant relations and national accounts. Mr. Israel is a limited partner of the firm’s parent company.
Before joining Brandes, he was a Senior Trader with Charles Schwab, a Faculty Associate Professor of finance at Arizona State University (teaching security analysis and portfolio management) and a Logistics Officer on nuclear powered submarines in the United States Navy. Mr. Israel holds an MBA from Arizona State University and a BA in finance from George Washington University. His relevant experience began in 1994 and he joined Brandes Investment Partners in 1999.
Timothy Newburn is responsible for developing and servicing relationships with institutional clients and consultants for Brandes Investment Partners in Canada. Previously, he was a Regional Director with Brandes, a Vice President with Trimark Investment Management and an Investment Executive with BMO Nesbitt Burns. Mr. Newburn holds a BA in economics and political science from the University of Toronto and is a holder of the FCSI (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute) designation. His relevant experience began in 1995 and he joined Brandes Investment Partners in 2002.
Rhonda Berger leads the firm’s Institutional Portfolio Management group and is a member of the Investment Oversight Committee. She works with institutional clients and their consultants to provide insights and interpretation of the firm’s portfolio strategies and investment philosophy. She coordinates with the firm’s investment committees to accommodate client-specific guidelines and to consider existing portfolio allocations when implementing investment decisions. Additionally, she is an Advisory Board Member of The Brandes Center at the Rady School of Management, UC San Diego. Ms. Berger is a limited partner of the firm’s parent company. Prior to her current role, she was an Institutional Client Portfolio Manager on various strategies and a Product Specialist with the firm’s Mid Cap strategies.
Before joining Brandes, she was a Managing Director in international equities with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where she oversaw the Japanese Equity Research Sales Desk. Ms. Berger earned her BA in economics from Wellesley College and her MBA with a concentration in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Her relevant experience began in 1987 and she joined Brandes Investment Partners in 2002.
Lawrence Taylor works with institutional clients and their consultants to provide insights and interpretation of the firm’s portfolio strategies and investment philosophy. He coordinates with Investment Committees to ensure that the firm accommodates client-specific guidelines and considers existing portfolio allocations when implementing investment decisions.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Taylor was an Associate Portfolio Manager/Analyst at Brandes. Before joining the firm, he was an Investment Analyst with the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System. Mr. Taylor holds a BA from the University of California, San Diego. His relevant experience began in 1993 and he joined Brandes Investment Partners in 1995.
Dylan Turner leads the firm’s global client service and business development efforts as well as Brandes’ business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with consultants and plan sponsors globally. Mr. Turner is a member of the ESG Steering Committee, which is responsible for guiding the firm’s long-term ESG strategy and initiatives. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board of The Brandes Center at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. Mr. Turner is a limited partner of the firm’s parent company.
Before joining Brandes in 2004, Mr. Turner held a senior business development role at a large asset management firm. He holds a BCom from the University of Ottawa.
